These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are the agreement between you and Jollof (“Jollof”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) for use of the website at jollof.dev and the pages on that site, including /privacy, /terms, and /100 (together, the “Site”).
By using the Site, or by sending a form on it, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
If you are using the Site for a company or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” means that organization.
Acceptance of these Terms
You must be able to form a binding contract. If you do not understand these Terms, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
The Site and Jollof Code
The Site is a public website about Jollof. It is not the Jollof Code product. Reading the Site, watching the demonstrations, or sending a message does not give you an account, a license, or access to Jollof Code.
Jollof Code may be offered later, or only to a small set of people, or on different terms. If you receive access to Jollof Code or another Jollof service, those terms will govern that service. These Terms still govern the Site.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to send us a form. You may not use the Site if we have told you that you may not, or if applicable law forbids it.
Acceptable use
You may read the Site. You may write to us through the forms we provide. You may not:
- Break, overload, scrape, or interfere with the Site, or try to
- Probe, scan, or test the Site for weakness except with our written permission
- Send malware, spam, or automated junk through a form
- Pretend you are Jollof, or that we endorse you, without our written permission
- Use the Site to harm people, or to collect someone else’s private life
- Send information you do not have the right to send
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose
We may refuse, remove, or ignore a submission, and we may block access to the Site, if we believe these Terms have been broken or the Site is at risk.
Your words and ideas
You keep ownership of the words and ideas you send. Submitting a sentence does not assign that idea to Jollof.
You grant us a limited right to use what you send so we can read it, store it, reply, review an application, and operate the Site. We do not claim a broader license than that.
You confirm that you have the right to send what you send, and that it does not infringe someone else’s rights. You are responsible for that content.
Do not send confidential information you cannot afford to have stored, or personal data about other people, unless they have allowed it and the law allows it.
Demonstrations and pictures of product
The Site shows mock software and walkthroughs so you can see the shape of what Jollof is for. Those pictures are demonstrations. They are not a live product, not a promise of a feature, and not a launch date.
Names, maps, fares, and sample data in a demonstration are invented for the story on the page. They are not real customers, drivers, or payments.
Intellectual property
The Site — including its design, text, pictures, demonstrations, marks, and code — is owned by Jollof or used with permission. These Terms do not give you any ownership of it.
You may not copy, scrape, or reuse the Site to build a competing page or product, except for the limited quoting that fair-use or similar law already allows.
“Jollof”, “Jollof Code”, and related marks are ours. You may not use them in a way that suggests you are us, or that we have approved you, without our written permission.
Third-party services
The Site may link to, embed, or depict third-party sites and tools. We do not control them. Your use of them is under their terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for them.
The Site is offered as it stands
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it up. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Information on the Site is for general information. It is not legal, financial, or professional advice, and it is not an offer of employment or of a product license.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Jollof and the people who work on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from the Site or from these Terms, even if we were told that the loss was possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the Site is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Site in the twelve months before the claim — which, for the public Site, is zero.
Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. It is part of these Terms.
General
These Terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site. They replace any earlier understanding about the Site. If a court finds a part unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce a part, we do not waive it.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a reorganization or a sale of the work.
These Terms do not create a partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
